a place where you can find practical help for the needs in your life as well as tools to build good, healthy relationships. At Northwoods, we believe that everyone—through the supernatural power of Jesus Christ—can find freedom to become the amazing people God created us to be.
 
Northwoods families come from all around Central Illinois. Weekend services— creative, relevant, understandable, and memorable—are held on campuses in both Peoria and Galesburg. Live worship teams lead each local site, and then we join together for teaching, which is live in Peoria and shared in high-definition in Galesburg. Classes, groups, and activities occur throughout the week on both campuses. We are one church that meets in multiple locations.
 
This new Galesburg campus is not a new church or a church plant. It’s Northwoods Community Church growing from roots in Peoria to impact more people. The core group of people who have been working tirelessly in the planning and development are all Northwoods families from Knox County whose hearts have been ignited to take the kind of ministry and encounter with Jesus they’ve experienced in Peoria to their neighbors in and around Galesburg.

Yes, it’s a new physical gathering place, but it’s filled with the same things that make Northwoods in Peoria so special. That starts with the presence of the Holy Spirit. Then it continues with people—people who are fired up about worship, about growing in their faith, about true biblical community, and about making a difference in the world around them.

Make a difference in the lives of those around you. Join Northwoods families as we introduce Adopt-a-Block in some of Galesburg’s most desperate neighborhoods, or experience what it’s like to put your skills to work for God as part of the Trades Team.

Prayer Ministry at Northwoods provides hurting people a point of contact with God’s love.  Prayer teams are available following every service.

Let your kids, birth through fifth grade, experience age-appropriate activities and teaching during the services as Northwoods partners with your family on your spiritual journey. Go online for free music and tips for teaching kids about Jesus, as well as to sign up children for small groups or yourself to volunteer. 

Converge - Youth Program
Students in grades 6-12 are invited to check out our exciting youth program full of fun, worship, and teaching. Join us on Sunday nights from 6-7:30pm
